MINNEAPOLIS — The Minnesota Timberwolves claimed their home court early on Friday night, breaking out of the first quarter ahead of the Cavaliers 25-16.

The wine and gold put up some skilled three-point shooting, but it just wasn’t enough.

Cleveland’s fourth-straight loss was wrapped up in a final score of 91-73.  Eight of the last nine games ended in defeat.

Starting guards Kyrie Irving and Dion Waiters did not play due to their broken left index finger and sprained left ankle, respectively, leaving Alonzo Gee to lead the team with 16 points.

Anderson Varejao pulled in 14 rebounds.

Kevin Love shined for the Timberwolves when he scored 36 points and racked up 13 rebounds.

Andrei Kirilenko, who had been on a four-game hiatus due to back spasms, returned to produce eight points and seven rebounds.

The Cavs play at home on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. against the Pistons.
